A typical Spirit of Christmas

Behind the scenes

IN 2001 we got a few friends together to celebrate the true spirit of Christmas by giving to those in real need. The enthusiasm for the occasion was so great that we have made it an annual event.

The Spirit of Christmas is a party with a purpose - a chance to contribute while enjoying Christmas cheer. The highlight of the event is putting together the hampers that will be delivered by the Burnside organisation to familes in need.

So when you come, please bring along some food or novelty hamper items to help us create fabulous Christmas hampers for those in need. This year's hampers are for families in need on the Central Coast.

[Burnside, is an agency of Uniting, provides care and protection for vulnerable children and families. It operates by building partnerships and links with volunteers, government departments, foster carers, local community groups, supporters and donors.]

NSW State Recognition

I'd like to recognise the amazing efforts of Leonie Cutts and Craig Browne from Martinsville who have quite literally brought the spirit of Christmas to those in need for more than 20 years ... Assembling the hampers has become such an undertaking that Leonie and Craig have enlisted the help of friends and family, hosting an annual 'Spirit of Christmas' event where hundreds of people visit their property to drop off donations and pack hampers ...
